How to Measure for a High-Back Custom Cover
To ensure a perfect fit, please provide the four required measurements:
- Front Height (FH): Measure from the ground to the front edge.
- Back Height (BH): Measure from the ground to the highest point at the back.
- Width (W): Left to right at the widest point.
- Depth (D): Front to back, measured over the top.
We add a small tailoring allowance to ensure your cover slips on smoothly while remaining snug and secure.

How the tie-down options work
Choose the tie-down style that best suits your garden and wind exposure. All options are sewn to order on your cover.
- No tie-downs – simple drop-over cover, ideal for sheltered patios.
- Elasticated hem + cord lock – shock cord sewn into the base with a toggle to cinch tight.
- Grommets + cord – reinforced metal eyelets around the base with cord to tie to legs or anchors.
- Straps & buckles – webbing straps run under the furniture with side-release buckles.

Frequently asked questions
Are the covers fully waterproof?
Yes – both fabric tiers are designed for outdoor use. Tier 1 (PVL 600D) is waterproof for everyday garden use. Tier 2 (P500UV) adds an extra PU + UV coating for maximum water resistance and long-term exposure.
Can I leave my furniture outside all year?
With Tier 2 (P500UV) and good ventilation around the cover, most customers use their covers all year round. We still recommend allowing the furniture and cushions to breathe occasionally and wiping away standing water.
What if my measurements are a bit wrong?
We add a small tailoring allowance to help the cover slip on easily. If you realise you’ve measured incorrectly, contact us as soon as possible with your order number – if production hasn’t started, we can usually update the sizes.
Can you make corner or modular high-back sets as one cover?
Yes – we can make one-piece covers or multiple tailored sections, depending on what is more practical. Upload a photo and describe your layout and we will advise the best option.
Can you add vents or cut-outs?
In many cases, yes. We can add simple vents, cut-outs or flaps. Upload a clear photo and describe what you need in the notes and we’ll confirm what is possible and if there’s any extra cost before we sew your cover.
How do I clean the cover?
Brush off loose dirt regularly, then sponge clean with mild soapy water and rinse. Avoid harsh chemicals or machine washing, as these can damage the waterproof coatings over time. Always allow the cover to dry fully before storing.
