  2. Base length (2) – along the base from back to front.
  3. Back width (3) – across the back edge of the top.
  4. Front height (4) – from ground to the lower front edge.

Some outdoor pieces don’t sit flat – they slope. Whether it’s a ramp, wedge cushion, log store, sloping equipment base or custom-built feature, a standard rectangular cover will never fit quite right. Our Design 15 ramped / wedge cover is made to measure to follow that long slope from the higher back edge down to the lower front, giving you a neat, professional finish.

Simply follow the diagram and enter four key measurements in centimetres. Our UK workshop will then cut and sew your cover in your chosen outdoor fabric, with a small tailoring allowance so it slides on easily without being baggy.

How Design 15 works

Measure in cm along the dashed lines in the diagram:

  • (1) Back height – from the ground to the highest back edge.
  • (2) Base length – the long distance along the bottom from back to front.
  • (3) Back width – left to right across the back edge of the top.
  • (4) Front height – from the ground to the lower front edge.

The cover is cut so the top panel slopes smoothly from the back height down to the front height, while the sides follow the ramped shape.

Ideal uses for Design 15

  • Garden ramps and wedges.
  • Log stores or wood racks with a sloping top.
  • Sloped equipment bases and machinery housings.
  • Outdoor steps or platforms that need a ramped cover.
  • Custom-built features where one end is higher than the other.

Choose your outdoor fabric

Tier 1 – PVL 600D Vinyl-Coated Polyester

  • Waterproof, tough and great value.
  • Perfect for general UK weather and semi-sheltered locations.
  • Best for covers used mainly spring–autumn.

Tier 2 – P500UV Premium Polyester (PU + UV Coated)

  • Extra UV and weather protection for all-year exposure.
  • Ideal for south-facing, coastal or very exposed gardens.
  • Recommended for valuable ramps, equipment and built-in features.

Our live price calculator uses your measurements to work out the fabric area for the ramped shape and then shows an instant price for each fabric tier.

Tie-down options

To keep your custom ramp cover in place, especially on smooth or exposed surfaces, you can choose from several tie-down upgrades:

  • No tie-downs – for heavy or enclosed ramps that don’t catch much wind.
  • Elasticated hem with cord lock – pulls the base snug around the ramp.
  • Grommets & cord – reinforced eyelets with cord to tie to hooks, rails or anchors.
  • Webbing straps with buckles – pass underneath for maximum security in high winds.

Why choose a Shiny Sofas custom ramped cover?

  • Made to measure from your exact ramp dimensions.
  • Waterproof & UV-resistant fabrics designed for outdoor use.
  • Clean, sloping profile that sheds water better than flat-topped covers.
  • Neat, tailored look that upgrades the appearance of functional ramps and equipment.
  • Optional photo upload & notes so we can double-check complex setups.

Caring for your cover

Brush off loose dirt regularly, then sponge clean with mild soapy water and rinse. Allow to air dry fully before putting back onto the ramp. Avoid harsh chemicals or machine washing, as these can damage the waterproof and UV coatings over time.

If you are unsure whether Design 15 is the right layout for your ramp or wedge, simply upload a photo with your order or contact us and we’ll be happy to advise.

💳 Pricing & Payment Information

The price shown above is an instant estimate based on the measurements, fabric and options you select.
At checkout, a standard base price may be displayed — this is normal and is used to place the order.

✔️ Your final price is calculated from your measurements, as shown in the price estimate on this page.
✔️ Any difference is confirmed before production begins.
✔️ If an adjustment is required, we will contact you or issue an updated invoice before sewing starts.

By placing your order, you confirm your measurements and acknowledge that custom-made items are priced according to size and specification, not the base product price.

How the tie-down options work

Choose the tie-down style that best suits your garden and wind exposure. All options are sewn to order on your cover.

  • No tie-downs – simple drop-over cover, ideal for sheltered areas.
  • Elasticated hem + cord lock – shock cord sewn into the base with a toggle to cinch tight.
  • Grommets + cord – reinforced metal eyelets around the base with cord to tie to legs or anchors.
  • Straps & buckles – webbing straps run under key points of the ramp for maximum security.

You can see close-up photos of each option above in the product gallery.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the right template for my ramp or wedge?

Design 15 is intended for items with a rectangular footprint and a long sloping top, where one end is higher than the other. If your item is the same height all round, our standard rectangular cover design will usually be a better fit.

Are the fabrics fully waterproof?

Both fabric tiers are designed for outdoor use. Tier 1 (PVL 600D) is waterproof for everyday garden use, while Tier 2 (P500UV) adds an extra PU and UV coating for maximum water resistance and long-term exposure.

What if my measurements are a bit wrong?

We add a small tailoring allowance to help the cover slip on easily. If you realise you’ve measured incorrectly, contact us as soon as possible with your order number – if production hasn’t started, we can usually update the sizes.

Can you add cut-outs or zips?

In many cases, yes. We can add simple cut-outs, flaps, vents or access zips. Please upload a clear photo and describe what you need in the notes – we’ll confirm what’s possible and if there’s any extra cost before we sew your cover.

How do I clean the cover?

Brush off loose dirt regularly, then sponge clean with mild soapy water and rinse. Avoid harsh chemicals or machine washing, as these can damage the waterproof coatings over time. Always allow the cover to dry fully before storing.
