This made to measure oval outdoor furniture cover (Design 3) is sewn to your exact dimensions for a neat, tailored fit. Just follow the diagram, enter your height and both oval diameters, and our workshop will cut and stitch a one-piece cover that hugs the shape without being baggy or tight.
How Design 3 works
- Height (1) – from the ground to the highest point of the furniture.
- Diameter #1 (2) – the longest measurement through the centre of the oval.
- Diameter #2 (3) – the shortest measurement through the centre of the oval.

Tier 1 – PVL 600D vinyl-coated polyester
Tough, waterproof and great value for everyday UK weather. Ideal for oval dining tables, benches and coffee tables that are covered mainly spring to autumn. -
Tier 2 – P500UV 500D UV-treated polyester
Premium fabric with extra PU & UV coating for maximum water resistance and long-term sun exposure. Best for exposed, south-facing gardens, coastal areas and year-round use.

Caring for your cover
Brush off loose dirt regularly and sponge clean with mild soapy water, then rinse and allow to air dry. Avoid harsh chemicals or machine washing, as these can damage the waterproof coatings. When not in use for long periods, let the cover and furniture dry fully before storing.

How the tie-down options work
Choose the tie-down style that best suits your garden and wind exposure. All options are sewn to order on your cover.
- No tie-downs – simple drop-over cover, ideal for sheltered patios.
- Elasticated hem + cord lock – shock cord sewn into the base with a toggle to cinch tight.
- Grommets + cord – reinforced metal eyelets around the base with cord to tie to legs or anchors.
- Straps & buckles – webbing straps run under key points of the cover.

Frequently asked questions
Is this the right template for oval furniture?
Yes. Design 3 is intended for furniture with an oval or racetrack-style footprint. If your item is perfectly round, choose our circular cover design instead.
Are the covers fully waterproof?
Both fabric tiers are designed for outdoor use. Tier 1 (PVL 600D) is waterproof for everyday garden use. Tier 2 (P500UV) adds an extra PU + UV coating for maximum water resistance and long-term exposure.
What if my measurements are a bit wrong?
We add a small tailoring allowance to help the cover slip on easily. If you realise you’ve measured incorrectly, contact us as soon as possible with your order number – if production hasn’t started, we can usually update the sizes.
Can you add cut-outs or zips?
In many cases, yes. We can add simple cut-outs, flaps, vents or access zips. Please upload a clear photo and describe what you need in the notes – we’ll confirm what’s possible and if there’s any extra cost before we sew your cover.
How do I clean the cover?
