All dimensions in cm. Measure along the dashed lines in the diagram – height (1), base length (2) and side depth (3).

How to measure Design 20 (curved / dome-front)

  1. Height (1) – from the ground to the highest point of the curve.
  2. Base length (2) – straight length along the ground from left to right.
  3. Side depth (3) – from the front edge back along the flat side at ground level.

Tip: measure at the widest and highest points you want covered. We add a small tailoring allowance so the curved front doesn’t strain the fabric when the cover is in place.

Fabric price is calculated per m² from your Design 20 measurements.

Choose your colour

Black is kept in stock. Other colours are made to order and may add a few days to dispatch.

Custom curved / dome-front outdoor cover – Design 20

outdoor custom cover for a vertical standing semi circle object like a bridge

Design 20 is for anything with a curved or dome-style front. If your item has a rounded top and flat base – like a small shelter, arched storage box, pet house, pump cover or special feature – this pattern gives you a neat, made-to-measure cover without the usual baggy corners.

You only need three simple measurements in centimetres. Our workshop then cuts the panels and curves to match your item, with a small tailoring allowance so the cover slides on easily but doesn’t look oversized.

Ideal uses for Design 20

  • Curved or dome-front equipment housings
  • Arched storage boxes and garden shelters
  • Pet houses and kennels with rounded roofs
  • Decorative feature covers with a curved profile

How to measure Design 20

Follow the numbered sizing diagram (set the image ALT to “diagram” or “size”):

  1. Height (1) – from the ground to the highest point at the top of the curve.
  2. Base length (2) – straight length along the ground from left to right.
  3. Side depth (3) – from the front edge back along the flat side at ground level.

Measure at the widest, deepest and highest points you want covered. We add a little ease so the curved front doesn’t strain the fabric when the cover is in place.

Fabric options – built for UK weather

Our live calculator estimates the total curved surface area of your cover from your measurements and shows an instant price for each fabric tier.

Tie-down options

Choose the tie-down system that best suits where the cover will be used:

  • No tie-downs – drop-over cover for heavy or sheltered items.
  • Elasticated hem + cord lock – cinches tight around the base of the dome.
  • Grommets & cord – reinforced eyelets to tie to stakes, walls or fixings.
  • Straps & buckles – webbing straps under the base, ideal for exposed areas.

Why choose a Shiny Sofas Design 20 cover?

  • Made to your exact curved measurements for a neat, professional look.
  • Waterproof & UV-resistant fabrics designed for outdoor use.
  • Optional photo upload so we can double-check tricky shapes.
  • UK-based support if you need help with measuring or design choice.

Care instructions

Brush off loose dirt regularly, then sponge clean with mild soapy water and rinse. Avoid harsh chemicals or machine washing, and allow the cover to dry fully before storing. This helps protect the waterproof and UV-resistant coatings over time.

If your dome or curved shape looks a little different to the diagram, upload a clear photo and add notes at checkout – we can normally adjust the pattern or suggest a different custom cover design to suit.

💳 Pricing & Payment Information

The price shown above is an instant estimate based on the measurements, fabric and options you select.
At checkout, a standard base price may be displayed — this is normal and is used to place the order.

✔️ Your final price is calculated from your measurements, as shown in the price estimate on this page.
✔️ Any difference is confirmed before production begins.
✔️ If an adjustment is required, we will contact you or issue an updated invoice before sewing starts.

By placing your order, you confirm your measurements and acknowledge that custom-made items are priced according to size and specification, not the base product price.

How the tie-down options work

Choose the tie-down style that best suits your garden and wind exposure. All options are sewn to order on your cover.

  • No tie-downs – simple drop-over cover, ideal for sheltered patios.
  • Elasticated hem + cord lock – shock cord sewn into the base with a toggle to cinch tight.
  • Grommets + cord – reinforced metal eyelets around the base with cord to tie to legs or anchors.
  • Straps & buckles – webbing straps run under key points of the base.

You can see close-up photos of each option above in the product gallery.

Frequently asked questions

What is Design 20 best for?

Design 20 is ideal for curved or dome-front boxes, housings, pet shelters and special features where a flat-topped cover wouldn’t fit neatly. The pattern follows the curved front while keeping a flat base.

Are the fabrics fully waterproof?

Both fabric tiers are designed for outdoor use. Tier 1 (PVL 600D) is waterproof for everyday garden use, while Tier 2 (P500UV) adds an extra PU and UV coating for maximum water resistance and long-term exposure.

What if my measurements are slightly wrong?

We add a small tailoring allowance to help the cover slip on easily. If you realise you’ve measured incorrectly, contact us as soon as possible with your order number – if production hasn’t started, we can usually update the sizes.

Can you add vents, flaps or zips?

In many cases we can add vents, inspection flaps or zips for access. Upload a clear photo and describe what you need in the notes – we’ll confirm what’s possible and whether there is any extra cost before we sew your cover.

How do I clean the cover?

Brush off loose dirt regularly, then sponge clean with mild soapy water and rinse. Avoid harsh chemicals or machine washing, as these can damage the waterproof coatings over time. Always allow the cover to dry fully before storing.
